Jerry and Donna started their hunt by taking a huge Red Hartebeest. After a long and tiring stalk the perfectly placed shot from Jerry’s rifle sounded success.
After crawling over a large plain, acting like feeding Warthog all the way, Donna brought this big stallion down with a single well placed shot.
Warthog was on top of Donna’s wish list, but after seeing a couple she told me that she wanted a good looking hog. After thinking about this for a long time I realized that she did not want a male warthog, as they have the 4 big ugly warts to complement their complexion. After hunting a couple of days we happened to stumble upon this perfect warthog sow by accident. An off-hand shot at 12 yards did the job.
As this was Jerry’s second trip to Africa he wanted some out of the ordinary species. So off we went to the mountains and back we came with this great Southern Mountain Reedbuck.
As Donna enjoys golf, we decided to take a day to relax on the local golf course. This turned out wonderful. We saw all kinds of game while playing our own ‘game’.
This included things like Impala, Blesbok, Nyala and Kudu.
The African dream came to an end with the most amazing sunset.
Thank you for sharing this great adventure with us.
Jerry learned that it is in fact possible to get a Black wildebeest on foot. Though it is very hard work! This probably turned out to be the most deserving trophy of them all.
What a monstrous Impala! Well done Donna, some people come to Africa 10 times before seeing an Impala like that.
