DAN AND MIKE
APRIL 2008
HUNT REPORT 2008
Bill Mc Carty and Eric Layne,
Father and son (in-law)
joined Afrika Barrel and Bow
Safaris for the adventure of
a life time. Here shown with
their tremendous Red
Hartebeest bulls taken
seconds apart. These bulls
ended up being the biggest
and second biggest for the
season.
Blue wildebeest are
very tough, but these
two great bulls went
down pretty fast. Shot
placement, nothing is
more important. Well
done Bill and Eric.

BILL & ERIC
Sneaking along the
side of a deep
canyon, we managed
to get pretty close to
a heard of Kudu
browsing along the
other side of a wash
that flows into the big
canyon. There were 5
bulls to choose from.
The decision Eric
made was that of a
real hunter. He did
not take the one that
would measure the
best but the one that
appealed to him. It
was also the one that
was presenting a
perfect shot.

When hunting way back in
the mountains we often
skin the animals right
there.This saves a lot of
time as traveling through
the rough terrain by
vehicle is time consuming.

Finding a big Kudu bull is never
easy, this bull found us shortly
after a lunch break.
Eric and Bill both
took very good
Blesbok.
