BOW HUNTING

THE HUNT

Highest success is always achieved through blinds or tree stand
hunting. However, we love stalking - it's extremely challenging,
and that's why we do it! Conditions have to be perfect and that's
why there is a time of year that is better for stalking, and a time
that is better for blind hunting. The areas we hunt, are utilized
exclusively for bow hunting.

BOW'S

Barrel & Bow welcomes every bow hunter, whether your fancy
be longbow, recurve or Compound bow.
Hunting the elusive African species would undoubtedly
meet your wildest hunting expectations!
Draw mass of at least 60 pounds is recommended for
plains game species, and at least 80 pounds is required
for dangerous game by law!

HUNTING SEASON AND DURATION

Hunting can take place
year-round.
Hunting from blinds - we
recommend mid winter
months (June to September)
as this is the driest part of
the year and animals are
more dependent on
known watering holes.

Walk and stalk hunting - As this is a different kind of hunt, we
suggest the summer months (October to April).
The weather conditions are tough at this time of year, however
it makes the hunt more enjoyable for the hardiest of hunters!
This is also when the bush provides lots of cover to help
in a successful stalk!

Barrel & Bow caters for a minimum of 5 to a maximum
of 21 day hunts.

No importation permits are required on bows brought in to
South Africa for hunting purposes.
